Throbbing Mattress Kitten is an innovative non-collective of musicianship. TMK or
"El Gatito del Colchón que Palpitaba" is best known for having a name that can not
be safely typed into a search engine by your grandmother.

The first recorded material from Throbbing
Mattress Kitten appeared in 1997 after the band spent nearly a year in Daegu, Korea.
There, looking out from the rooftop over the urban sprawl, they constructed a set
of songs and recorded using the only equipment available, an Epiphone guitar, a
harmonica, a Tascam four-track, and a 486 laptop purchased at a local electronics
bazaar.
The result of this was
Lost in Space, an album steeped in inexperience and left to brew in tepid
discontent for the ages. This album reeks of enthusiasm and what a stench to behold.
The recording quality leaves one wanting more and the arrangements are pedantic
and obviously issued through a process plagued with troglodytic tendencies.
The next album to make its way onto the scene
was
A Provacative Selection of Four Love Items for Fifty Cents. It is commonly
noted that provacative is an incorrect speling and it must be pointed out that it
is a bathroom wall, after all. Only a special few have experienced the bathroom
pictured on the cover.
The next album may have been
christmas 1999. A close friends and family run with lots of good
songs. Some of these songs contain guest appearances by members of
Anatone.
The next album was an instrumental album, occuring
on the heels of the studio aquiring a drum set. All of the tracks were recorded
in 8 tracks or less, thus the title
8 track inbred band. The piano figures more heavily on this album after
TMK was able to aquire a stage piano to donate to the studio. One of the highlights
of this album is
